Sure, you’re looking forward to unwinding at Borrego Valley Inn, but no trip to the Anza-Borrego Desert is complete without a road adventure up the scenic Montezuma Valley Road.
Montezuma Valley Road, also known as Highway S22 or “The Glass Elevator”, affords an opportunity to drive to one of the most spectacular lookouts over the entire desert valley. From the Inn, turn left onto Palm Canyon Road with another left onto Montezuma Valley Road (HwyS22) for a winding road adventure up to the Montezuma Valley Road Lookout.
With a sizable turnoff area just off the highway, fold up the map, unbuckle the seatbelt, and be greeted by panoramic views of the Anza-Borrego Desert and the Salton Sea.
